Heavy Gauge Hoop Earrings

I created these hoop earrings this morning. I started with 16 gauge wire and they were okay, but I decided to try 14 gauge wire. I liked them better. Then this 3rd pair I changed the bail and added a curl on the top. The next pair I'm going to try some 12 gauge wire and see how they look and I'll hammer the wire on the small circle on the bail. In the meantime these 1 1/4" textured copper hoops are headed into the mail today to the Old Jail Museum gift shop, item ED44 $22.

Now, I need to get some paperwork completed and pack up some jewelry to get into the mail.  It's the boring part of doing business.

Have a joy filled and creative day!

Carolina Mountain Artist Guild New Display

This framed bio is on top of the display.

My selling season is spring, summer and fall, when the tourists and vacationers are exploring beyond their neighborhoods.  This is a time when galleries and museums have a tendency to revamp their displays.  I'm happy and thrilled that Carolina Mountain Artist Guild has invested in a new display and has allowed me to move my jewelry onto it.  I share the display with Sami Mintz.  She hand carves wood into beautiful jewelry and other creations.

Here are some pictures of my new display.

There are key rings in the lower right tray

In an earlier post I mentioned my 2 new earring displays.  They fit perfectly.

Here are 6 pictures of my displays, still in the setup stage.

Dragonflies Redesigned with Bling

It's the season for bugs. Not to worry, these dragonflies won't bite. These are a remake of the dragonfly earrings I've made in the past. This time I decided to add some crystals and not the original all copper wire versions. Item # ED22 $32 with Swarovski crystals on their way to the Guild in Hendersonville, NC

Lampwork Beads and Copper Weave are in a Relationship

PC6 $42

I want to thank whoever inspired me to use lampwork beads in my weave pendants, with apologies, because I can't remember who it is.  I've used 5 different lampwork beads in the same design, but they all look so different because of the bead personality.  Take a look below.

The design started with my choosing to join the lampwork bead with a wire, then I decided that I wanted the weave just up the side, the next step was which weave to use.  Once that was started the wire and my hands decided on the the rest, as I went along.  It seemed natural to add a coiled spiral at the bottom and the bare wire just wanted to follow along.  It ends in the back.  When I was ready to work on the top, the bare wire just followed along the weave that wrapped to make the baile.

Right now they are all headed to Hendersonville, NC to help fill up my new glass shelving display.
