Bookmarks

Czech Glass - red

These bookmarks puzzle me. They actually look better in person. While I was hammering and texturing I was mumbling under my breath "These are supposed to be a simple creation!" A few choice cuss words were expressed as the hammer forced its way onto my thumb nail. More words followed! Originally they were 8" long. Ugly, ugly. So they were adjusted to a final size of 5 1/2". As they were being made and echoing through the cuss words, I got another design idea that hopefully will be a winner. I'll play with that idea later. I'll see if shoppers like either of the designs. They go into the mail to LRAC today. BM5 $10.

Here are a few more pictures.  I'm aiming for my daring customers that shop in the forests and mountains and for buying for men and women.

Today's photo-shoot wasn't as clear as I would have liked, so some off the colors aren't as vibrant as I would have liked.  But, these will give you an idea.

Tree /agate - light and dark green

Dalmatian Jasper - beige and brown

Howlite - turquoise

Snowflake Obsidian - black, grey and white

Czech Glass - blue

Thank you for reading along.  Have a joy filled and creative day!

Key Ring

First, I must say that, NO!  I didn't try to balance the keyring on the edge.  I laid the entire unit down, picked up the camera and took advantage of this happy accident.  I'm putting the finishing touches on the inventory headed for Lost River Artisan Cooperative.  I decided that I needed something for those gift buyers that could go home to a man or woman.  I know you're looking at a 16mm bright fuchsia agate, but there are others that are dark blue lapis that hopefully will appeal to shoppers. The fuchsia made it into the mix because I was using 16 gauge wire and it and the lapis were drilled to fit.  Yes, I could have used 18 gauge, but I really wanted the chunky look.  Item BA2 $12.

Thank you for visiting.  Have a joy filled and creative Easter day!

Deadline Muscle Stress

Deadlines are stressful. I love making jewelry, with the exception of when I'm under a deadline. Worse yet is, it's entirely my fault! Yup! I've known for months that I've had a large order to be ready for Lost River Artisan Cooperative, LRAC. They close in December and reopen in late March. Did I start to create early? Nope! Do I have stress pain in my muscles from attempting to be on time? Yep! Here's a bracelet that I just completed for LRAC. It's patina'd copper herringbone weave and 25mm Lapis coins. I've added an extension so the size is adjustable from 7" to 8" item BC5, $42.

Fits Like A Glove

When I got my new display, at Carolina Mountain Artists Guild, I had concerns of getting an earring rack that would fit in the 12 inch glass squares.  I held my breath and ordered the smallest I could find. It too, is 12 inches high. The luck of the Irish is with me ( It so happened, yesterday was St. Patrick's Day.)  It fits perfectly! Happy dance, happy dance.

I've ordered some new jewerly busts for pendants and necklaces. They are expected to be delivered tomorrow.  I'll post pictures of my display once it's make over is completed.

I hope spring weather has shown up in your region.  Here in Asheville, NC the weather is devine.

Thank you for reading.  Have a creative and joy filled day!

Pink Agate with Copper Weave Pendant

I bet you thought I've been slacking. Actually, I've been restocking earring designs and they are remakes of older designs, so there's no need to show them again. But, I took a break to let my creativity fly. Here's one of several new pendants that have emerged. This copper weave, pink agate is destined for Lost River Artisan Cooperative, item PC53, $42.

I made a few more and I'll get them posted soon.

Thank you for visiting.

Have a wonderful, creative and joy filled day!  Think Spring!
